As you’re packing sunscreen, flip-flops and mouse ears for Orlando to attend the nation’s largest gathering of community bankers at ICBA Community Banking LIVE, don’t forget to also pack the following checklist of social media activities.

1. Join a tweet-up. Meet, mingle and learn about how to use social media with other community bank influencers and staff. Already an expert? Come to a tweet-up and share your tips and tricks! Either way, if you tweet and want to meet other community bankers who share the same passion to spread the word on social media, come join us at a tweet-up. You’ll have fun!

2. Visit the social media and marketing booth. ICBA staffers and experts will be staffing a new booth right near the registration desk in Exhibit Hall C to assist in answering questions about social media and marketing. The booth will have a social media and marketing toolkit as well as wearable buttons to encourage social media at the event.

3. Take a selfie with the #ICBALive15 media wall. Back again for the second year in a row, the wall of nine flat-screen TVs featuring social media happenings and videos will make an appearance outside the exhibit hall. Be sure to check out what everyone’s talking about at the event and take a selfie.

4. Find a MainStreeter. MainStreeters is a new brand advocates group of community bankers passionate about sharing the message of banking local on social media. They are great at tweeting and can give you a breakdown of how to get started, and they can share their own personal anecdotes on time management for social media and more.

They will be wearing bright green lanyards at the event and “MainStreeter” flags on their nametags. Be sure to meet one, and once you get ramped up on social, you may decide to become a MainStreeter, too!

5. Enter the free 2016 convention registration Twitter giveaway contest. Tweet using the hashtag #ICBALive15 anytime during the convention and you may win a free 2016 convention registration giveaway. Numerous tweets do not count as numerous entries and the deadline to tweet is Thursday, March 12, at noon (Eastern time). Be sure to follow @ICBA, where we will announce the winner on Friday, March 13. Tweet and you may be heading to New Orleans in 2016 for #ICBALive16!
